Baseball Movies - Where's the Infield?

I began making a list of the ultimate baseball movie lineup with the rules being that the players much be a fictional major league baseball player for either the "good team" or the "bad team" when I realized that baseball movies that revolve around a player is usually about a pitcher and baseball games that revolve around a team feature the pitchers, catchers, and outfielders. I couldn't come up with any significant infielders. Here's what I came up with. Can you add an infielder or two to the list?

C - Jack Parkman (Major League 2)
1B -
2B -
3B -
SS -
RF - Roy Hobbs (The Natural)
CF - Willie Mays Hayes (Major League 1-2)
RF - Taka Tanaka (Major League 2-3)
DH - Pedro Cerrano (Major League 1-3)

SP - Rick 'Wild Thing' Vaughn (Major League 1-2)
SP - Prof. Vernon Simpson (It Happens Every Spring)
RP - Mel Clark (Angels in the Outfield)

Announcer - Harry Doyle (Major League (1-3)

There you go, got your third baseman. And I was gonna nominate Doris Murphy, Rosie O'Donnell's character from A League of Their Own. I know you're going for Major Leaguers, but if you're willing to go with the women, Marla Hooch actually played second base.

Your infield could be from "A League of their own"

Too many from Major League(s). What about Bull Durham or bad news bears- I think Crash Davis or Engleberg would be good candidates for catcher. Not sure who played infield though.

Moreover, gimme Henry Rowengartner as a starter over simpson...and john candy (the announcer from rookie of the year as well), he should get the nod as color guy next to good ole harry doyle...

You should be able to have a few starters, again I goto bulls for Nuke LaLoosh and bears for Amanda (tatum o'neal).

My bad. But you should consider expanding if you can field a full team.

I think Marla Hooch played a pretty good first base in "A League of Their Own." Jimmy Duggan or The Quaker Oats Guy from "The Natural" as manager?

Starting Pitcher (#3 spot, I guess) - Billy Chapel (For Love of the Game). Hey, he no-hit the Yanks!

There are no hits in a perfect game, right?

Yes, but there can be walks in a no-hitter. By saying he no-hit them, you're understating his accomplishment. Tons of people get no-hitters, but perfect games are rare.

Can it only be movies? Dean Cain played Conrad Dean, 3B for New York Empires in shortlived TV series "Clubhouse".

I was just thinking that. Plus what about the guy that hits the homerun off Vaughn, on the White Sox, in Major League? Wasn't he a first baseman?

"the guy that hits the homerun off Vaughn, on the White Sox" That's Major League 2 and it's Jack Parkman, the catcher that's listed.

First base has to be Lou Collins, from Little Big League.

Steve Nebraska from "The Scout" got terribly snubbed...he threw a perfect game, on 81 pitches...ALL strikes...thats right 27 outs, 27 K's..in the WORLD SERIES nonetheless!

I think that's why he got snubbed, for the same reason the kid from Rookie of the Year isn't on here. I don't know about everyone else here, but I don't wanna go with the absurd.

Bennie The Jet. They say he's lost a step, but he can still really fly. Maybe as a pinch runner or something.

In Major League, the original - The 'bad guy' on the Yankees with the fu manchu is actually Pete Vukovich former Brewers Cy Young winning pitcher
