So, this would be a lockerroom, but Dan said I should write this as an opinion so I am. Well, a while back, Dan and I set up a Baseball Encyclopedia. Well, actually, Dan set it up, and then I ran with it. I started setting up ideas for articles beyond the baseball guide. I got people interested, and then nagged politely asked people to work on articles for their teams. That was about three weeks ago, and here's the first update:
the following Users volunteered to work on a team and did so, and reported back to me:
- False Prophet (Minnesota Twins)
- DNL (That other New York team)
- Bball3345 (Why would anyone be a fan of these guys?)
- Sasha (Arizona Diamondbacks)
- Tylersalt (Boston Red Sox)
Congratulations to all of you for your work, and keep it up!
The following Users should be booed for volunteering without working:
- The Beast (the Anaheim Angels of the Los Angeles area of Southern California...)
- You'd think that he'd be able to do something now that he's retired from his real job...] (Tampa Bay Devil Rays)
- Kelsdad and JB82 (New York Yankees)
And the following user(s) can start to get to work but I'm giving a free pass because they're new to the project:
Here are the things anyone interested and participating should do:
- go to Adopt a Team and sign you name by doing ** ~~~ under your teams name
- then get to work on player articles. At least put the infobox and fill it in. If you want to give the player a bio, copy it from Wikipedia. It's legal, despite what Alex tells you, but I'd prefer if you didn't. Idealy, every article written would be written by a sports fan knowledgeable about the player for anothe sports fan that knows enough about baseball so you don't need to explain every friggen baseball term to them, and has a scouting report.
- then go to User:False Prophet/Desk and follow the instructions their to update what you're doing so I can give you credit in each update.
Things to help you get started:
- When starting an article that has a red link to begin with (i.e. a page that doesn't exist), use this form.
- use MLB.com and ESPN.com for stats and bio information for players
So find your team and get working!
