Barton managed to hang with the Blue Devils for the first 9 minutes of the game, leading at one point 16-11. But Duke turned up the heat on defense and Kyle Singler took over on offense, and Duke walked away with a blowout. Singler led all scorers with 27 points on 10 of 12 shooting. He also led Duke with 10 rebounds.

Duke's first real game is against North Carolina Central University on November 9, 2007.
