Barry Word

Barry Word (Barry Quentin Word) was born on July 17, 1964 in Long Island, Virginia. After going to high school at Halifax County (South Boston, VA), Word attended the University of Virginia. Word made his professional debut in the NFL in 1987 with the New Orleans Saints. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings over the course of his 7 year career.
Most people believe that 1990 was Barry Word's best year, as he ran for 1015 yards, ran in 4 TDs and ran for an average of 5 yards per carry.
