[edit] Biography
Barry Richardson, born May 15, 1986, is an Offensive Tackle for Clemson and is a top offensive line prospect in the 2008 NFL draft.
At 6-7, 330 pounds, Richardson certainly looked like an offensive tackle in high school. However, he was not very heavily recruited, as he was only a 2 star prospect by both Scout and Rivals. He also only had scholarship offers from Clemson and South Carolina.
Once he got to Clemson his impact was immediately felt. He was Clemson's first first-year freshman to start for the course of a season on the offensive line since 1943.
Richardson is a strong student-athlete who graduated a year early from Wando High in Mount Pleasant, SC. He is the first scholarship football player to come to Clemson after just three years of high school.

[edit] Scouting Report
Barry Richardson has a lot of positives. He is the ideal size for a tackel at 6-7, 330 pounds. He is an aboslute beat of a man. He is more athletic that you would think for a man of his stature. He also has never missed a game due to injury. He has played in 32 consecutive games, playing through various injuries suffered throughout the years. He also is very smart, and he has never had any off the field problems.
Richardson does come with some negatives though. Being as large as he is, he is a tad slow. He could have problems with a very fast pass rusher. He also is known for not playing with the same passion to live up to his great ability. You want a tackle to play with a certain tenacity, and he seems to lack that at times.
With all of that being said, Richardson is a top 10 offensive line prospect in the draft, and he could turn out to be one of the best. NFL scouts will fall in love with his size and ability.
