Born on September 7, 1944 in Denver, Colorado, Barry Lersch (Barry Lee Lersch) played for the Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 6 year career. Lersch broke into the bigs on April 8, 1969 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.26 ERA in 138 innings pitched in 1970, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Barry Lersch's best season was 1970, when he posted a 3.26 ERA and struck out 92 batters.
