Barry Helton (Barry Bret Helton) was born on January 2, 1965 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After going to high school at Simla (CO), Helton attended the University of Colorado. Helton made his professional debut in the NFL in 1988 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1988 was Barry Helton's best year, as he dropped 22 punts inside the 20.
