Barry Bonds Escapes Charges For Now

6
Vote

by user The Jim

The federal grand jury investigating San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds expired with no indictments. The prosecution stopped short of exonerating Bonds though. In fact, rumors continue to swirl that another grand jury has convened and the government continues to pursue Barry for tax evasion and perjury, stemming from his testimony in the 2003 BALCO investigation that he never knowingly took steroids.

If it is so easy to indict someone, how come they couldn't indict Bonds? This has to help Bonds case, even though the media would never spin it that way.

By "case," I was referring more toward the "court of public opinion" than an actual legal case.
