Born on June 7, 1876 in Independence, Pennsylvania, Barney Wolfe (Wilbert Otto Wolfe) played for the New York Highlanders and Washington Senators over the course of his 4 year career. Wolfe broke into the bigs on April 24, 1903 with the New York Highlanders, and put up a 2.97 ERA in 148.1 innings pitched in 1903, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Barney Wolfe's best season was 1905, when he posted a 2.57 ERA and struck out 52 batters.
