Born on August 15, 1926 in Beverly, New Jersey, Barney Schultz (George Warren Schultz) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 7 year career. Schultz broke into the bigs on April 12, 1955 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.70 ERA in 66.2 innings pitched in 1961, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Barney Schultz's best season was 1961, when he posted a 2.70 ERA and struck out 59 batters.
