Born on September 10, 1880 in Farmington, Missouri, Barney Pelty (Barney Pelty) played for the St. Louis Browns and Washington Senators over the course of his 10 year career. Pelty broke into the bigs on August 20, 1903 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 2.84 ERA in 301 innings pitched in 1904, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Barney Pelty's best season was 1906, when he posted a 1.59 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 92 batters.
