'Ball Four is based on the autobiograhy written by Jim Bouton. The book was made into a 1976 television series that appeared on CBS. The series was cancelled after four episodes. Jim Bouton, the author of the book, starred in the show as Jim Barton, a pitcher who has decided to write some articles about being a baseball player.
