Babe Young (Norman Robert Young) was born on July 1, 1915 in Astoria, New York. He made his Major League debut on September 26, 1936 for the New York Giants. In 1940, his rookie year, he hit .286 with 17 home runs and 101 RBI. Young played for the New York Giants, Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Babe Young's best season was 1941, when he slugged 25 home runs and knocked in 104 runs.
