Babe Herman (Floyd Caves Herman) was born on June 26, 1903 in Buffalo, New York. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1926 for the Brooklyn Robins. In 1926, his rookie year, he hit .319 with 11 home runs and 81 RBI. Herman played for the Brooklyn Robins, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Babe Herman's best season was 1930, when he slugged 35 home runs, hit for a .393 average and knocked in 130 runs.
