Babe Barna (Herbert Paul Barna) was born on March 2, 1915 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. He made his Major League debut on September 16, 1937 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1942, his rookie year, he hit .257 with 6 home runs and 58 RBI. Barna played for the Philadelphia Athletics, New York Giants and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that Babe Barna's best season was 1942, when he knocked in 58 runs.
