Ohio State is favored... I guess that means I'm rooting for Florida. Sorry Ohio State fans, there's just too damned many of you here in Phoenix for me to root with you!

side note: I'm sick and very worn down, so I don't know if I'll make it the whole game... lucky for my wife, it hurts for me to talk. But I can still type and I'm very cranky, so it might be MORE fun!!!

Either I missed it, or Florida got screwed already... OSU band had some nice airtime... WHERE is the UF marching band?

A few nice things about the big game in AZ:

• weather
• the national media gets reminded that the SUNS are awesome
• don't forget the weather

Florida hasn't played in 37 days, OSU in 50-something. Offense is always ahead of defense in timing. High scoring first half, but the defense will catch up. 37-31 OSU. Which as a Michigan fan pretty much sucks.

The 50+ day layoff killed Ohio State. I don't understand the support for the bowl system. The weeks layoff just kills teams. Bowl games that might look goos on paper become jokes. But nothing is going to change because of the big schools & conferences get the $$. You can expect this to be among the Friday Fryer this week.

OHIO STATE AND FLORIDA MAKE BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, MEET TO DECIDE WHO WILL LOSE BY 60 IN BLOWOUT

Ohio State and Florida both completed their quests to make the BCS Championship Game, leaving only one question unanswered in this year’s college football picture: which team will complete the process by losing by 60 in Glendale?

"We know it’s coming, and you can bet it’s a debate we’re prepared for," said Buckeyes head coach Jim Tressel, who been planning ahead ever since beating Michigan on November 18. "The BCS may have been designed to give us a boring, one-sided, and meaningless title game between one of the nation’s best teams and an overrated squad of tackling dummies, but we'll do our best to keep from being on the receiving end of the inevitable beatdown."

"Clearly this isn’t the way it’s supposed to be, but it sure as hell won’t be us on the end of the beating," said Gators head man Urban Meyer, speaking from his offices in Gainesville earlier this morning. "With a loss, we were supposed to be eliminated by now -- but the BCS hates Boise State, so now one of us gets it in the poop chute. That won’t the be the Florida Gators, though."

Meyer’s passionate comments didn’t sway BCS commish Kevin Weiberg, who reiterated a full commitment to the formula on the part of all concerned parties.

"We set up the BCS to give the people exactly what they wanted: controversy, lobbying in the media, and ultimately a one-sided, ugly, unwatchable, bear versus midget-style skull-fucking the American fan has become accustomed to in sport. It’s a proven product, we believe in it, and those are the rules of the road for any and all teams concerned. One team is just going to have to buck up, get out there, and take a shameless, bare-knuckled, unmitigated red-assed beatdown and let the real champion claim their bloody crown in front of snoozing millions."

Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith thinks the system should try something revolutionary: allow the natural outcome to occur on the field without manipulation.

"Frankly, it’s disappointing to think that we just can’t play the game. It would have been cool to finish out my career with a great game against a great team like Florida. I have no idea what I’ll do to console myself if we lose," said Smith from his chair at Scores. "I’ll...I’ll just move on, I guess," he said, clearly overcome by the emotion of his final home game as a Buckeye and dabbing at his tears with a crisp hundred dollar bill.

Florida QB Chris Leak had comments of his own for Smith: "I’m just glad Troy’s getting the Heisman and not me. That means we’ll probably be the ones cracking out the pipes on the Buckeyes, right? Jason White, nothin’ but love, son!"

The decision will come down to a coin toss conducted in Kevin Weiberg’s offices on Monday, the results of which will be kept secret until moments before kickoff. Experts say that keeping the secret isn’t the only challenge offered by the system.

"Making otherwise talented players lose not only on purpose, but by huge margins, presents serious logistical problems for BCS officials," said Dave Flechette, former BCS official. "How do you slow down an unstoppable player? Jason White made the job doubly easy over the past few years by coming without knees or any innate sense of composure. All that officials had to do was give him two cups of black coffee before the game, and nerves did the rest."

i cannot believe florida is crushing ohio state. this is proof that college football needs a playoff!!! it is crazy already, this so-called experts tell you who is number one and they don't know crap. they need to take the top eight teams and have a playoff. this is an absolute joke and is just like professional boxing. i cannot believe that the so-called strongest conference the big ten has now been BLOWN OUT of two bowls. this is complete bullcrap, i mean ohio state and michigan were ranked one two all year. they were supposedly meeting for the "championship" at the end of the season. well, now what?!!! this whole season is a joke. a complete and utter joke. i would give boise state the number one unless they have a playoff. bcs is a joke and they cannot even effectively pick number one or two. look at notre dame getting a bcs bowl, they are just as embarrassing as ohio state and michigan. like i said this is just like boxing, where the champ can duck the best fighters for years. okay, i'm done ranting....but i don't wanna hear anymore crap about how great the big ten is ever again. this is just flat out embarrassing for the osu and michigan and the entire big ten conference. i don't wanna even see either of these teams ranked in the top ten to open next season or notre dame for that matter.
