If only they could have swung a Wake Forest-Boise St. matchup... then they'd have ratings gold!

big blue should be playing for the national championship not fla. that is a joke, they are going to get BLOWN OUT BIG TIME. it would be like sending texas or arkansas or notre dame to play OSU. After OSU/Michigan, there is a huge drop-off in college football. big blue will destroy usc and OSU will kill fla. bad job by the bcs, bad job all around.

not crying at all, i like rutgers not big blue. i am an objective sports fan though and can clearly see that michigan is the second best team in the nation. i also see the two bowls as being blow outs. we will see...

The BCS blew this by putting a limit on how many representatives a conference can field. Wisconsin deserves to be there more than any of those two loss teams do. Isn't the BCS about pitting the best teams against each other? The Badgers are ranked fifth in the Coaches' Poll and get the Capital One Bowl? WTF is that?

It's really too bad Michigan didn't have a fair shot to make the championship game...Oh wait, they did. And they lost.

florida lost too...and the funny thing is that OSU will blow them out. it won't even be close. at the same time Michigan will be blowing out USC.

Well in that case, all will be as it should be with OSU #1 and Michigan #2. But the truth is that there is no rational scenario in which Michigan can be #1. They already lost to the #1 team so that dream is dead.

and (theoretically) if michigan and OSU played the Championship (on a neutral field) and played a really close game, they'd have to call them co-champs, right??

The only thing you can say about Michigan is that they lost to a higher ranked team than Florida did. We will never know if they could have made it through a tougher schedule because they didn't play one. Please don't throw in Notre Dame being a tough opponent, they were middle of the road with a slack schedule. Florida had the toughest schedule in the nation this year. That's a given. So what counts more, the one loss to a lesser ranked (but still top ten) opponent, or multiple wins against tougher teams? Everyone was accepting USC as #2 even though they lost to an unranked team. Michigan fans are just upset that they were jumped in the polls but the numbers show that the strength of schedule with multiple wins makes Florida #2.

with all that said, michigan will blow out usc and ohio state will blow out florida. so, now we have two uninteresting bcs bowl games. way to go bcs, way to go.

I'm glad you're such an expert that you know beyond the shadow of a doubt what is going to happen in the bowl games. That will make betting a lot easier. Let me guess, you also said USC would blow out UCLA, right?

Good thing there's no playoff system in place, or else we might end up seeing a Ohio State- Michigan rematch!!!

Of course, they'd meet in the first round of playoffs, beat each other up while Boise St would win it all over (ah, let's say... Wake Forest!)

All bitchers need to quit their bitching; The System worked!!!

I would be okay with a rematch if Michigan had to work its way back. Assuming an 8-team field, they would have to go through the 7th and 3rd seeds. If they did that and Ohio State was waiting for them, fine. But to award them a second shot 50 days later without having done a thing is just ridiculous.

the problem with your little scenario is this: what if OSU barely beats FLA because they take the game too lightly? Michigan though crushes USC, who would be champion? I would argue that Michigan could be number 1, no? I mean they lost a close game in Ohio. The problem is that most people believe that Michigan is the true number 2 and that they are nicely matched-up with OSU. The main problem is that nobody wants to see two teams from the same conference in the NC game. And you know what, Michigan deserves it, they are MUCH better than FLA. AND i'm not even a Michigan fan or OSU fan. I call em as I see em. Guaranteed by the middle of January, you will see Michigan #2 AGAIN!!!

If you think Michigan could jump from #3 to #1 without Ohio State losing, I guess you must be a BCS voter! All kidding aside, no matter how you slice it, if OSU beats Florida, they are #1, no matter how close the game was. 13-0 will always trump 12-1, especially when the 13-0 team beat the 12-1 team (and it shouldn't even have been that close). I will let the losers argue over #2. And by the way, those of you thinking that the Buckeyes will overlook Florida are either idiots or you don't know Jim Tressel. Who the hell is there to beyond Florida to?

haha, i agree it would be impossible to pass OSU, but Michigan I believe is the real #2. I guess a win by OSU and a Michigan blowout of OSU will get Big Blue back to number 2. haha, that rhymes nice.

Everyone is still avoiding the fact that Michigan played a weaker schedule than Florida. It's hard for me to accept Michigan as #2 when they didin't prove it through their schedule. The only thing they did was lose to the #1 team in the nation. Had they played a tougher schedule they might have lost more than one game. By saying they are the definite #2 there is no substance to back it up.
