BCS-Why even Bother?

In college football their is a system that is suppose to determine the national championship. That is called the BCS. I think it's also one flawed system. Now, I'll tell you right now, I don't follow college football very closely but I have heard every year about how the BCS jobbed some team out of the BCS title game. If I was in charge I would dismantle the BCS. Even though the BCS is suppose to help you figure out a national champ. game, it just leaves you with a headache. A lot of times it's not the top 2 teams in the title game- it's the 2 top teams for tv. Tv wants sexy matchups for their bowls especially their title game. For ex., do you think fox execs. wanted to have Missouri vs. West Virginia? With all do respect to those teams, the answer is no. Why did they add yet another game(BCS Champ. Game) to the schedule? They couldn't figure out a national champion with the other bowl games.
What I would do is not have the BCS or a playoff system. This is a little complicated so bear with me. I would make more rival or more interesting games. I would make it better for tv. I would expand the college football season until the sat. before the bowls start, which this year would be Dec.15. That day (Dec.15) for '07 would be called "Championship Saturday" with the games you saw on 12/1. For a team like Ohio State who finished their season Thanksgiving weekend, I believe, I would have them play 3 or 4 extra games. Those games would be up against the likes of a USC, Oklahoma, even a Norte Dame. That would help college football's lousy ratings and give teams common opponents. Ohio State plays USC, OK, West Viginia, Missouri. USC plays Ohio State, OK, WVU, Missouri. Missouri plays USC, Ohio State,WVU, OK. I would determine a champion like that like they do in the NFL. Do you really want another Utah/Pittsburgh Fiesta Bowl? Or what about let's say it was Rutgers/Purdue.
I just think the BCS creates more havoc and chaos and confusion then their needs to be.
