Avery Monfort (William Avery Monfort) was born on December 19, 1918 in Copan, Oklahoma. Monfort attended San Bernardino Valley College and the University of New Mexico. Monfort made his professional debut in the NFL in 1941 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 1 year career.
