Avalanche Sign 2005 Draft Pick Stastny, Veteran Defenseman Klee

The Colorado Avalanche announced that they have signed their second-choice in the 2005 NHL Draft, Paul Stastny, as well as Ken Klee, a 12-year vetern.
Stastny, 20, was on the University of Denver's National Championship team in 2005. He was the WCHA's leading scorer with 44 points last season. Stanstny signed a multi-year deal, although the terms have not been disclosed. Paul Stastny is the son of NHL great Peter Stastny, who began his professional career with the Avalanche organization in 1980, when they were known as the Quebec Nordiques.
Klee, 35, will be entering his 12th NHL season. He spent the majority of his career with the Washington Capitals, and also played in Toronto and New Jersey.
