Austin Kearns (Austin Ryan Kearns) was born on May 20, 1980 in Lexington, Kentucky. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 2002 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 2002, his rookie year, he hit .315 with 13 home runs and 56 RBI. Kearns played for the Cincinnati Reds and Washington Nationals over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that Austin Kearns's best season was 2006, when he slugged 24 home runs and knocked in 86 runs.

- Nicknamed "Austin Powers" after the Mike Myers character, he also goes by "Ears" and "Darth Kearns".
- Kearns is appreciated as a "players' player" who quietly does his job, usually effectively.
- His current warm-up song is "I Still Will Kill" by 50 Cent.
- In an episode of the USA Television Network series "Psych", Shawn tells his friend Gus that the drawing on the board is Austin Kearns.
