Pedro Astacio signed a one-year $700,000 contract with the Washington Nationals. Astacio had been with the San Diego Padres and Texas Rangers in 2005. Astacio, 36, will likely start the year as the Nationals' fourth or fifth starter. Last year, he posted a 2-8 record with a 6.04 ERA for the Rangers and 4-2 with a 3.17 ERA for the Padres last season.
