Week 10 WR Fantasy Rankings

Must Starts:

1. Greg Jennings vs. Minnesota. In what has been well documented on this blog, the Vikings are tremendous against the run and vulnerable against the pass. This all bodes well for Jennings on Sunday because with the recent struggles of RB Ryan Grant and the offensive line, Green Bay will need to throw the ball in order to win. Minnesota was torched through the air three weeks ago against the Bears and then again this past Sunday vs. Houston. Look for similar results this week and for Jennings to be on the receiving end of a lot of passes, one of which he takes to the house. 100 yards and 1 TD.

2. Anquan Boldin/Larry Fitzgerald vs. San Francisco. It’s become so difficult to predict which of the two will have the better fantasy day of late that we’ve decided to include both players as the must starts. Both receivers present big-time mismatches against San Francisco DB’s (Nate Clements and Walt Harris), and we think Warner will have no trouble locating his top two receivers in what should be an aerial show in the desert. 75+ for both receivers and at least 1 TD each.

3. Andre Johnson vs. Baltimore. Similar to Minnesota, Baltimore’s strength defensively lies in its front 7. Especially now that they’re playing without their top CB tandem: McAllister and Rolle. For Houston, the drop off from Schaub to Rosenfels is so inconsequential that we expect Johnson to continue his torrid pace and go for over 100-yards and 1 TD.

4. Steve Smith vs. Oakland. The Raiders might’ve put on the worst performance last Sunday in the last five years, managing only 77 yards of total offense in a 24-0 blowout to the Atlanta Falcons. In that one-sided affair, rookie QB Matt Ryan tossed for 220 yards and 2 scores. This week, we like Delhomme to locate his favorite target (Smith) throughout the game and when Carolina begins to have success on the ground, and S Gibril Wilson is forced to cheat up to help out vs. the run, look for the Panthers to call Smith’s number on a play action pass and find him running all alone for a 50+ yard score. 90-yards and at least 1 TD.

Sleepers:

1. Braylon Edwards vs. Denver. It’s been difficult to endorse Edwards this season because he’s been hit with a case of the dropsies. If not mistaken, he leads the NFL with over 11 dropped passes in 2008 and had another huge one go through his hands last Sunday which would have resulted in a 60+ yard TD. In this game he’s playing with a new QB, Brady Quinn, and gets to face a depleted Denver defense that’s without star CB Champ Bailey. If ever there was a bust out game to right his fantasy ship, this is it. 80+ yards and 1TD.

2. Plaxico Burress vs. Philadelphia. After a turbulent start to his ‘08 season, the Giants appear to have reined in the enigmatic receiver and he’s now ready to play ball. This one won’t be easy though; lining up opposite him will be Pro Bowl CB Asante Samuel. That being said, we like Eli to get back on the same page as his star receiver and if history is any indication of what will take place in Sunday Night’s showdown, look for Burress to have a big game; he’s always come up huge vs. the Eagles over his Giants’ tenure. 75 yards and 1 TD.
