The following was written because I was bored… and because I’ve had like nine Heinekens.
Twas’ the night before the Draft and I’m sitting on the Chair
Trying to figure out which prospect has the best hair
Am I analyzing too much?
If I am, does it matter?
Oh shit, I forgot to get deli’s for the draft platter!
The first pick has been selected but don’t ask me why
When I heard it announced I almost did cry
And how bad is it that I’m writing a poem about tomorrow
Thinking about the Patriots and V. Gholston causes me sorrow
What if he goes to the Jets! Or what if they get McFadden?
Brett Favre was just named for the cover of Madden
And what does that mean, will the curse finally break?
All this prognostication has given me a headache
Limas Sweed is my favorite wide receiver out of the crop
And Vernon G is my favorite to get a D stop
I’ve liked Jonny Stewart as the best running back
And think that Chris Long will give D.C.’s a heart attack
Why is Brian Brohm going to be the second QB taken
When he’s obviously going to prove everyone mistaken
Draft Dorsey, draft Jackson draft Jonny and Lime
And enjoy it because it’s all we get for a time
Because after this draft it’s all we have for some weeks
So sit on the couch and have some drinks in nice streaks
I can’t quite remember how this poems supposed to close
So I’ll sign out with a point to my nose
Cuz that’s how Santa would do it and that’s all that matters
I know this is weird, but Jeff Otah is fatter
