"DNL found out your IP address, so stop BSing. Now your account creation is blocked."

No way. I tried right away to sign up under a new user name once the original ban was in place and it wouldn't let me. No way in hell did I create a new user. No way the IP addresses match. You can't do it! Give it a try... have an admin block you and try to sign up under a new name... you can't! If you just don't won't me back then fine, but to make up a reason to ban me is another. What about this JR Lives dude, he probably has no idea what's going on and I don't want to think I'm the reason he can't post here.

Tiger Wins Again. The Perfect Season?

It's not news that Tiger Woods won the Accenture Match Play Championship yesterday. Nor is it big news that he won 8- and- 7 over Cink in a 36 hole match up, the biggest victory margin in this events history. It wasn't even big news that this is his 63rd tour victory, that he just passed Arnold Palmer in total tour wins, and that he is closing in on Ben Hogan (who has 64 tour wins). It isn't even news that he has won $96.3 million on tour, $78.8 million being money earned while on tour, and that he has the hottest wife I have ever seen.

I don't even think it's big news that Tiger thinks he can win the Grand Slam this year; nobody has won all the majors in the same year (Tiger held them all at one time but by winning the 2001 Masters, the 2000 United States Open, the 2000 British Open and the 2000 P.G.A. Championship.

I don't think it's big news that he has won the last 4 consecutive wins on tour, 6th straight world wide, nor that he is once again chasing the long held 11 wins in a row title of Byron Nelson (March 11, 1945- Aug 4, 1945)

What I do think is news is that people are now talking about the "perfect season". That in some crazy way Tiger is going to win EVERY tournament he plays in this year. That's ridiculous......... is it?

What if by some crazy way Tiger does actually complete this task. To me that's way way way greater of an accomplishment than a perfect season in football, a perfect no-hitter in baseball, a .......... well I don't know what it would compare to.

Is this just insane talk? To me this would be like a baseball team winning EVERY game in the season. Or hockey, or basketball. EVERY single game of the season. And those are team sports.

Hell, to me it's just a matter of time until Tiger loses and the world will be a normal place again...... but seriously, Tiger has dominated in every tournament so far, and experts say he's never looked better.

We will just have to wait. But what if! What if Tiger actually wins the 20 something tournaments he has entered this year (and wins all 4 majors).

What does this compare to? I have no idea.... but man, "what if"?

Sports talk I like it... that being said He will not win all his tourneys this year, unless he only plays the majors and nothing else and even then it will be difficult.

He's not going to win every tournament. Not possible in my eyes. Is that good enough for ya???

I'm just saying that it ISN'T insane to think that he will beat Byron's record of 11 straight. If he does that he also wins every tournament he entered this year. Sounds somewhat do-able to me. Now let's get back to talking about hair and baseball that hasn't even started yet.....

It looks like he only is schedules for 8 more tournaments this year

It's not that far fetched.

It's not far fetched but I just think the laws of averages work against him more than anything. I mean he will play on average 70 plus opponents every week and its hard to dominate them all all the time for 10 plus events.

No, he'll probably play about 20 tournaments this season, maybe a few less than that. I think that schedule was just showing the one's he's already committed to.

Again, it's not that crazy if you think he will win all the majors-- that's only 4 more tournaments he has to win.

This article does a good job of breaking down some of the tournaments coming up and his chances. He figures Tiger will only play on courses he likes and has one before. Interesting.... http://sport...p;id=3262755

I just find it interesting that he's reached the point in his career where he is expected to win. People are actually surprised when Tiger loses. Is that the measure of greatness?

uuuhhh...i dont know...

i think that it is like the local news. You dont here the good tuff only the bad.

At this point it is almost liek they dont discuss unless he has a huge streak, a huge win, a tight win or a loss.

A normal win is nothing.

That doesn't make any sense Afraid. What are you trying to say? Cheezer yes it's ridiculous that people EXPECT him to win every tournament he is in. For everyone else in golf it's great if they have 1 tour win a year. 1 Major a year would be compared to being a golf god. But to win every tournament and every major.... again, I dont' know what it would compare to in other sports but it doesn't get more dominant than that. Compare it to tennis I guess?

it does make sense.

Him winning by a "normal" margin has become non-news. the only way they ever really talk about his wins anymore are if he:

1) wins by a lot

2) barely wins

3) has a big win streak

or if he loses.

Those are the only times people actually "care", because if it isn't "different" then is normal.

What the hell man?

So it's news if he wins a lot, or really a lot, or by a little, or if he loses... and you guys make fun of me :)

by the way, I thought you wanted a discussion. If you want to mock someone's opinions you won't get many discussions going.

A normal margin in golf is 2 strokes. Even 3 is a lot. So winning by 1 is just winning, winning by 2 is say normal, 3 is a lot, 3 + is huge.

Fact of the matter is that there is NO WAY Tiger could win every tournament. Golf is a fickle game where one shot can cost you a tournament. Even if Tiger is on top of his game all season long, it's so easy to have a day where the ball just doesn't bounce your way and you lose... especially when the guys you're playing against are still the best in the world.

By the way, I think the Grand Slam could happen, as that's only four tournaments, something Tiger has done before with ease. However, saying he will win 20 or so tournaments is crazy.

Perhaps a lot of this talk is due to a certain team having a chance at a perfect season. It's the news of the day. The media will be just as happy to talk about Tiger Woods loosing a tournament as they would of him winning every game. The media will tear you down faster than build you up if it sells papers or add space. Winning all four majors in the same calendar year has never been done before. Is he good enough to do it? He certainly is. But long and hard is the road (season). Time will tell. I won't speculate. I just want to see it happen.

There are too many varibles in the game of golf for him to win every start. He is however the best there ever was as they say in dueling banjos. When he's chasing, the leaders crumble, when he's leading they can't catch him.Let's face it he has to have a bad couple days for anybody to beat him.
