The NFL announced the leagues MVP this week. And just like many thought… Tom Brady was the winner. Brady took 49 of the 50 votes. The other vote went to Brett Favre. Brady set the single season touchdown record with 50 breaking Peyton Manning’s record of 49. Brady as you all know also lead his team to an undefeated season, the first 16-0 season in NFL history and the first undefeated season since the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

Seahawks Sink Redskins

The Washington Redskins emotional season came to an end this weekend. The Seattle Seahawks took a 13-0 lead into halftime before giving it up. Then the Seahawks defense then forced Todd Collins to throw his first interception of the season, and then he threw another and the Hawks defender brought it back to the house.

It ends the season for the Washington Redskins, one that saw them lose a star player in Sean Taylor. They had an up and down year on the field. I did not expect them to make the playoffs.

The Seattle Seahawks head on to a rematch in Green Bay.

Jaguars Drive Through Pittsburgh

The Jacksonville Jaguars earned themselves a date with the New England Patriots. Jacksonville picked off Big Ben 3 times in the first half to take a 21-7 lead into half time, and much like the regular season match up between these two teams Pittsburgh came back an took a late lead. Then David Garrard showed a lot of poise and confidence as he drove his team down the field for a late field goal that gave them a lead.

Pittsburgh was left with one last chance. On the first play Roethlisberger had the ball knocked out of his hands and the Jaguars recovered to hang on for the win.

Jacksonville will play the undefeated New England Patriots next Saturday.

Giants Fire Cannons at Buccaneers

Eli Manning won a playoff game for the first time in his short career and the steaming New York Giants defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the city of Tampa, during the two teams first ever post-season meeting. This game did not go the way that Jeff Garcia planned as his Buccaneers managed to get nothing going and crumbled under the heat of the Giants defense.

Next week the New York Giants go into Dallas for the first time in the post-season. After losing both regular season games against the Cowboys the Giants look for revenge. The Cowboys, who earned a bye and home field in the NFC playoffs, look to put their late season struggles behind them and advance.

Chargers Bolt Past Titans

The Tennessee Titans had six-point lead heading into half time and they had held the leads leading rusher to just a few yards. Then after the half the Titans crumbled and the Chargers bolted out to a big lead and won a playoff game for the first time in 13 years. Next week the Chargers head to Indianapolis to face the Colts in a rematch that saw the Chargers win a close regular season game and Adam Vinatieri miss a game winner, something that made him famous while in New England.
