Australia resumed day 2 on 301/4 with Hodge and Johnson at the crease only to be bowled out for 431. Hodge was dismissed early in the day for a brilliant 67 and the Windies continued taking wickets at regular intervals. Symonds played the lone hand at the end with an unbeaten 72 which helped Australia reach the score of 431. Fidel Edwards was the pick of the bowlers taking five wickets in the innings. Stuart Clarke seemed to take advantage of the uneasy pitch and soon the Windies were 68 for the loss of 3.Morton and Chanderpaul then stabilized the innings and finished the day with West Indies at 115/3.
