What's up. My name is Amir, I love sports, A HUGE fan. My Passion and Soul is in Footbal "Soccer", I know mostly everything there is about it. I also love Baseball, Basketball and American Football, in that order. I do my best not to be biased to one team, or any for that matter. I am a huge Real Madrid fan, but I give credit where credit is due. So if Barcelona, Valencia or any other team for that matter, I will not bash them because I can. I love sports and it's fans because for me it is a intoxicating drug that gives me something to do. The only thing I hate are fans who have some narrow minded opinion on something. It is a right for everyone to have a say but please make an educated and reasonable opinion or point of view.

Robinho Gives Agent The Boot!

After a prolonged summer of transfers, one of the most talked transfer sagas of the season saw former Real Madrid player Robinho sign two minutes before the transfer deadline for Manchester City, which was believed to be the wrong thing at the time. Robinho looked happy enough to play there, but apparently, things changed. According to Spainish Daily Marca, Robinho has sacked his agent Wagner Ribeiro. This might come to a shock, as Wagner Ribeiro was the one who orchestrated Robinho's move to the Eastlands, but now it seems to be that that wasn't really what Robinho had intended.

Robinho Time of Transfer.
Robinho Time of Transfer.

According to the Marca, Robinho made the announcement that he has decided to part company with his former agent after a six year working relationship.

An official statement that was issued read:
“I am grateful for everything Wágner Ribeiro has done for my career up until now, but our working cycle has come to an end. It is time for us to go our own separate ways and I have new goals to achieve with my new club, Manchester City.”

The pair began working together in 2002 when the player was still a teenager at Santos. Ribeiro negotiated his stormy move to Real Madrid in 2005 but it was nothing compared to the pandemonium that was just a month ago when the 23 year old adamantly demanded to leave the Santiago Bernabéu for Chelsea, but landed at cashed-up Manchester City instead.

Many have accused Ribeiro of ill-advising his client throughout the entire ordeal but it is unknown whether or not that was the main reason he was given the axe.But it's highly believed that was the reason.

Robinho's father will now take charge of the player's off the pitch, business affairs.

It seems that Robinho was never happy with what had happened this summer and in the end has to pay for his severe lack of judgement and Professionalism.

I don't know, but as I was talking with Romiezzo, I feel that what Robinho did is something of what Manny did..

It could be just me, Robinho did not want to stay at madrid even after Real assured him and everything he wasn't professional and was not attending Practices and wasn't ready for anything in spain anymore so they had to tranfer him out..

Manny did almost the same.. but the difference was Manny went to a team that has history and is actually a decent team.. but Robinho went to a team that average is an over spoken term...

That was a great way of putting in terms of the attitude they had towards their teams. Both Manny and Robinho were getting lazy and were pretty "unprofessional", for lack of a better word. However, I don't agree with you, on the comparison of the situations that they were in though. Manny has always been known for being... well, Manny. Manny was not on a decent team (at the time) when he moved to the Dodgers though. It may have looked like since they were in second place, but the Dodgers had one of the worst offenses in the league. However, he and Casey Blake helped the Dodgers' offense turn around completely. He was able to turn a team whose record was at an even .500 and helped them clinch a playoff spot already.

I don't know what went wrong with Robinho and his attitude, but I always saw him as a diligent worker on the field. Although he was just a young guy who played with Real Madrid for 3 years, he had a pretty big influence on the team. He was very productive and very reliable, until he turned out to be lazy for some reason.

I'll agree that it's sort of a "soccer" version of what Manny did. However, their situations are completely different... that's all. But then again, we're talking about soccer and baseball here: two sports that have almost nothing in common. ;)

You could probably talk to Meg about it. She could compare the situations a lot better than me.

Good article though, A QQ. Keep 'em coming...

nothing in common, romi..

the only 1 thing that they are in common with and every sport out there has got to be that its played by athletes...

but its not fully the same.. but robinho wanted extra money and real.. honestly at the beginning didnt want to cough up.. he still had 2 years on his contract i will tell you that.. but after a month real offered almost the same amount as Man city are now offering.. but he left and in a disrespectful way as i would like to say.. it was exactly 11:58 Pm when he signed and left Madrid.. that is bad, that is something I did not like from him..

I would want to know why he wanted to leave in the first place and this whole things smells of crap same as the world cup in France when France won 4-0 against a 2 goal favorite Brazil. If it smells like a duck, it looks like a duck then maybe it is a duck. Robinho is just your typical spoiled international jock and like all that came before him the only thing remaining is the giant fall from the top. The moron from Argentina is one of your prime examples. Is Robinhu acting like the great Argentinaian cokehead. The bottomline is and always will be MONEY. If he didn't go to the place that he wanted then why did he go to Manchester City?

I would put Manny in with this guy...There was a lot of history with Manny in Boston and the management team there and say what you will about him in Boston, he put up some number there and now in LA that you have to look at instant Hall of Famer. Manny isn't anywhere near Cobb and there are a few in the hall that make Manny look like a pussycat.
