Remnants of Orange Bowl ablaze

Well, the Orange Bowl is not going quietly. I just checked United Press International and they report that the remains of the old ballpark caught fire. No injuries were reported, thankfully and Miami-Dade Fire put the blaze out in less than 30 minutes. The cause of the fire was some wood mixed in with steel debris.
They recently tore down the site that was the stage for Doug Flutie's miracle pass against Miami, Kellen Winslow's effort in an AFC playoff game against the Dolphins, the last game played by the Miami Hurricanes, which they lost to Virginia, to make room for the Florida Marlins' new digs.
Gordon Lightfoot once wrote "Superior, they say, never gives up her dead, when the skies of November turn early." It's the grand old girl saying, "I live on." At least she went down swinging.
