QB: Fantasy Rankings for Week 7

Must Starts:

1. Peyton Manning vs. Green Bay. Against a tough Ravens’ D, we saw the Peyton of old reappear, and looking at this week’s opponent, we like that trend to continue. Even though they’ll be potentially playing without star RB Joseph Addai, the Packers have problems with the interior of its defense so RB Dominic Rhodes should be able to keep them honest, setting up play-action all day for Manning and Co. The Packers are also without stud corner Al Harris, leaving Charles Woodson as the only healthy corner on the roster. Rookie Matt Ryan torched this D two weeks ago; what do you think Peyton will do? We think 300 yards and 3TDs.

2. Aaron Rodgers vs. Indy. On the flip side, GB’s offense, and primarily its passing game have been clicking all year. The Packers’ receivers match-up very favorably with Indy’s secondary and we see this as a high scoring affair. Look for Rodgers to break the 250 mark and put the ball into the end zone at least twice.

3. Matt Schaub vs. Detroit. Schaub had an up-and-down day this past Sunday but finished off with solid fantasy numbers: 380+ yards, 2TDs. In this game, we don’t see Detroit putting up much of a fight now that it appears they’ll be forced to play the rest of the season with a back-up QB; not saying Jon Kitna was anything special, but at least he gave them a fighting chance. Look for Schaub to have time to locate his favorite target, Andre Johnson, who has come on real strong of late, and finish with 2 TDs.

4. Jake Delhomme vs. New Orleans. Coming off a porous effort vs the Bucs - throwing three ill-advised picks - we see Jake rebounding nicely vs. a Saints’ defense that can be exposed. This team will be looking to take care of business once again after being humiliated last week in a division game, so look for Delhomme to locate WRs Smith and Muhammad for some solid yardage and at least a TD or two.

Sleeper:

1. Eli Manning vs. San Francisco. Eli’s coming off a game against Cleveland that he rather forget; he threw for nearly 200 yards with a score but also had three picks. In a game that we see the Giants jumping to an early lead and focusing heavily on the ground game, we see some opportunities for deep plays to Burress and Hixon as the 49ers’ defense has given up the most long plays this season. Also look for him to be more careful with the ball: 200 yards and 2TDs.

2. Marc Bulger vs. Dallas. St Louis might come back to earth in this one, after upsetting Washington on the road, but they are at home, and they are facing a team is disarray. And if there’s one thing the Cowboys have done consistently this season, it’s give up a lot of yards through the air. In what could be a high scoring affair, we like Bulger to put up a solid day stat wise.
