Plug may be pulled on Spitzer night

According to the last check of an online poll launched by the South Coast League's Macon Music baseball club, things are not looking good for the team's plans to parody former New York governor Eliot Spitzer June 13th. 54 percent of those voting so far have basically told the club to pull the plug on the idea with 46 percent saying keep things going, when I last checked.
Granted, there haven't been any floating, dangling, pregnant or dimpled chads so far. But for my money, I think that the team should do it anyway. After all, they invested all this time and money on this project and it's already put the team in the limelight as well as perhaps showcase Luther Williams Field, the third-oldest ballpark in the nation, behind Fenway Park and Tiger Stadium and the place where Peter Edward Rose (yes, that one) got his start in professional baseball. It was also featured in the baseball movie, "The Bingo Long Traveling All Stars and Motor Kings," featuring Richard Pryor, James Earl Jones and Billy Dee Williams.
Here are some of the goodies that the team have in store for fans that come to Luther Williams Field that night
1. The Music have extended an invitation for former New York Governor Spitzer to be on hand and throw out the first pitch. 2. The team will give away a Washington, DC Vacation including a one night stay at the MayFlower Hotel. 3. Client #9 (or fan #9) will receive a free Music prize pack. 4. Any fan with the name Eliot, Spitzer, or “Kristen” along with any fan from New York will receive $1 off admission. 5. The Music will play Frank Sinatra music throughout the evening in honor of New York State. 6. Wire Taps will be placed throughout the ballpark this evening. 7. ATMs will be available for cash withdrawals not to exceed $5,000 per hour. 8. Any fan who has resigned their position will be given $1 off admission. 9. The 871 fan will receive a gift certificate for the Macon Music Team store.
