“It was a good football play” That is what every one has said about Bernard Pollard’s hit on Tom Brady in week one of the NFL season. The hit ended Tom Brady’s season. And yes it was a football play; he wasn’t out there playing baseball. I also respect the NFL’s decision for ruling it a clean hit, and I respect the man for not giving up on the play, that is what you are taught through out your entire sporting life. I personally think it was not a clean hit, as I believe that no matter what position a player is playing you should never hit him or her below the knees. This could just be because I have had two serious knee injuries’. My first knee injury was caused by a player who hit me with his knee directly on my knee, an illegal hit in hockey, this hit caused two fractures in my left knee cap and changed the way I saw things, especially on hits on or below the knees. So now I think no matter who makes the hit I think they should be penalized, I was glad to see Vince Wilfork get fined last year when he hit J.P. Losman. Any contact to any ones knee can be serious and is not something to fool around with.

I do not hold a grudge with Pollard, as he was just giving it his all. The people I have a problem with are the ones who cheer when a player is hurt. Tom Brady is the NFL MVP; the league does not want to lose him. Some teams may secretly be relieved to see they don’t need to stop Brady. But I would like to point out that Patriot fans are not celebrating Shawne Merriman season ending knee surgery. Or the possibility that Ben Roethlisberger may be hurt. Instead of keeping it to them selves and being excited that the Steelers have a chance to now win the AFC do to Brady’s injury and the Chargers and Colts struggles, some fans are trying to make money off of Brady’s injury. Bernard Pollard fan club t-shirts? http://www.believemerch.com/products This is disgusting. No one should ever celebrate an injury. At least that is what I was taught; maybe they are different in Pittsburgh.

The Patriots cheated, should I assume that is a good representation of the entire New England area?

Only Patriots fans are questioning the hit, and only because of the result. Wait a week or so and watch it again, once the shock and disappointment of losing Brady has worn off, and if you know football it will be quite clear to you the hit was in fact, clean.

BTW, Brady's injury is in no way life threatening. It is not going to cause him to be financially unstable or ruin his life. No one is happy that he was in pain, they are happy about he affects it will have on this years season. I think we have heard just a few too many motorcycle jokes here in Pittsburgh to actually take you seriously right now.

Obviously no one deserves to be in a motorcycle accident, but Big Ben did deserve a nice slap for riding a bike w/o a helmet (as do most people)

Oh man...Philly's got this but Pittsburgh, New York, Dallas, etc etc has this

Suck one guys, because this is normal...

The facts are:

Star QB for evil empire-esque team is hurt

Every other teams' odds increased

Every other teams' fans happier because odds are increased

Giant cheating douche coach lost star QB (A.K.A. got we he deserved)

Steroid abusing Safety deserved to miss out on another ring

Spygate results in cosmic response

what's so surprising about this? You knew everyone was pissed about spygate...an undefeated run by any team makes them public enemy #1 (think of the broncos in 98)...

Pats fans clearly don't know how to handle adversity well.

An extreme few people are cheering the "injury" and even the ones who are are really just cheering the fact that your team lost it's star player. Football is like war - and the Chiefs just sunk your Battleship.

Quit crying. The Pats haven't wona title in 3 years - that was a LONG time ago... enjoy the downslope back down the NFL's mountaintop. Lots of teams have done it before you...

Even the TV show Dynasty got cancelled eventually.

most Pat's fans are also Sox fans, so I think we can handle a little adversity.
