Julius Peppers season is over. The Panthers placed the DE on the IR on Wednesday because he sprained a medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
The Panthers move ended Peppers' admirable streak of 78 consecutive games played. Peppers finished with only 3 sacks in 14 games, ending a streak of three years with at least 10 sacks.
The Panthers added two players to the practice squad on Wednesday: former Wake Forest safety Patrick Ghee and defensive back Eddie Canonico, who has played in the Arena Football League.
