Pacman Jones reinstated on a limited basis

According to NFL.com Pacman Jones has been reinstated to the NFL by commissioner Roger Goodell. The limited reinstatement allows him to participate in mini-camp, training camp, and preseason games. It is still not promised that Jones will be reinstated to play in games but this is a big step in the process. This reinstatement comes after a long summer filled with questions of whether or not Pacman would be allowed to play with his new team, The Dallas Cowboys, after being suspended indefinately for repeated legal troubles including an incident in a Las Vegas strip club

Let's see if he's learned anything. It doesn't take much sense to keep a low profile. Pacman should know that Goodell will be looking for him to slip up so he can make an example of him again. I'd like to see Pacman get past this nonsense if for no other reason than to make Goodell do something constructive with his time.

I'd like to see him get over his problems just to see what kind of football player he could become. Granted he has been out of football for a year but he still had great athleticism when he was playing and in my opinion he was starting to develop into a pretty decent corner.

This would be for the best, but for that to happen he needs to sit out for another year. If he doesn't get it, then he shouldn't be rewarded! I have seen friends clean up their acts and it's a great thing seeing them afterward so I'm rooting for the Adam Jones the man, but as a football player he can kiss my arse until he does clean up his act.

Goodell is a wimp. When Pacman screws up again it'll be Goodells fault. Why give in to Jerry Jones being a crybaby?

What? Didn't everyone know this review was coming after a year? I'm surprised it's only a partial reinstatement.

I'm not surprised...it gives Goodell the power to crack the whip at any time, but also allows the cowboys to go about football business...

Stripping aside some cowboys bias (I'm trying here):

I think its fair in that the guy deserves a chance to play, but the limited reinstatement does not insure he will play if he transgresses...especially given his history. But given his number of mistakes, i say why bother with the limited reinstatement? Let him go and if he screws up again, slam the door...

That was a big step, JuT. I'm really proud of you.
And you are right on. This is good for the NFL, Dallas and Pacman. Goodell gets to keep him on a short leash, the Cowboys get to integrate him into the system, and Pacman gets to cut back on idle time. Plus, he gets full assistance from the Boys and Calvin Hill, which he was barred from previously. Good move by Goodell.

now that's an excellent point...

I think you're right and this explains the limited nature...provide pacman with help, but keep the leash short...which is the way it should be...

Still, as an adult, he needs to learn to step up a little bit

Absolutely--it's well past time to grow up. But anything the Cowboys can do to help him and make him feel included is a good thing.
