Yes I'm a total Girly Girl that likes Football and Loves Baseball so that means I can tie in Louboutin, Choo & Blahnik in the same sentence as Evan Longoria, Scott Kazmir, James Shields, Matt Garza, Derek Jeter, Jake Peavy, Cliff Lee (who I drafted in FBL in March 08 and got made fun of) Don Mattingly, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Mickey Mantle & Roger Maris.... See I just did
[edit] =================================

I'm lots of fun, love to play and live life to it's fullest, I have an attention span of a gnat on caffeine so you better keep up, be funny and don’t bore me to death. I'm also a Gemini so I can flip on you on a dime go Kraszy and be back to normal all on a moments notice... So basically I'm noting but trouble but worth every minute of it....

Oh Evan, Where art thou…

So, here we go again with the Tampa Bay Rays with their backs against the wall. To have to win the next three seems all but impossible. Like I've had said before everyone has been counting them out all year and against the Boston Red Sox. This time they might have dug themselves a whole too deep. So where are the Rays that have been playing all year? These World Series Rays aren't them. The Rays won by having solid defense, pitching and their bats... the speed is still there so at least that is something. The pitching has been decent, but not solid and the last two games have been giving up the big hits... when everyone was praising the Rays' young guns and doubting the Phillies back part of their rotation, it's been Jamie Moyer & Joe Blanton who has shined. Moyer pitched 6 1/3 innings, surrendering 5 hits, 3 earned runs, 1 walk, and 5 K's. Blanton pitched 6.0 innings pitched 4 hits allowed 2 earned runs 2 walks 7 K's... Wow what a pickup Blanton was; trust me, I've watched him in Oakland.

Now about them Rays. The hitting is close to non-existent. Evan Longoria and Carlos Pena are a combined 0-for-29! Ouch, comparing what both of them did against the Red Sox they were 14-for-53 with 7 homers combined. Errors? OMG the errors. How did this start? Was it the cold air? The Young Guns haven't had it either, as they have a combined 43.6 innings pitched, 37 hits, 15 earned runs, 18 walks, and 34 K's against Boston. Against Philly, they have a combined 21 2/3 innings pitched, 25 hits, 10 earned runs, 11 walks, and 17 K's. They are close and not stinking it too bad, but not quite cutting it. The Phillies' bats are coming alive and the Rays' as aren't simple as that. The Rays just don't win when Evan and Carlos aren't hitting. So if the Rays stand a chance tonight to get it back to the Trop, those guys need to come up big. So the question is again with the Rays up against the wall in the cold and facing Cole Hamels on the mound can they be those Resilient Remarkable Rays that we have seen all year?

It has been one hell of a season and a ride either way and no one can take that away from them and with most of these guys locked up for about 3 years... It will be fun to watch…

First of all...it ain't over

I've watched enough Phillies baseball and/or Philadelphia sports to know that. Plus, people forget the Brad Lidge, Ryan Madson, J.C. Romero Chad Durbin or Scott Eyre of 2 years ago...they could all rear their ugly heads at any moment (Albert Pujols anyone?)

I really hate when people talk about how this Rays team isn't the same Rays team like somehow the Philadelphians have stolen these assholes and replaced them with less talented dopplegangers.

Is it pressure, nerves, talent? Who knows. But instead of saying the Rays aren't performing, how about (which you noted) talking about 16 game winner Jamie Moyer or 11-4 team record Joe Blanton? Talk about rising to the peak of your game at the peak of the game.

The Phillies offense has been known to explode. It really hasn't clicked (on all cylinders) all October until last night. That is what the Phillies offense is truly like.

And if there's one guarantee in life its the Cole Hamels won't shy away from trying to win this one by himself (and his .244 BA this season)

It has been interesting to listen to the comments about the two teams over the past few days. Just as you wonder where the Rays you watched all season have gone, I wondered the same thing about the Phillies I've been watching. Seeing them hit the way they did last night was great, and it's been cool seeing some of the lesser known Phils pick up the slack while the big guns were on holiday or something.

The Phils haven't done anything yet. I remember well the 1979 series when the Pirates clawed back from a 3-1 defecit against the Orioles. These Rays didn't get here by accident. It would be a mistake to overlook them. And I don't think Charlie Manuel or any of the Phils will do that.

The Phils don't make it easy...but it sure has been fun to watch them thus far.

You know the Astros won the series with the Pujols HR, right? I think it's the only time that it's acceptable to have your closer implode.

You do remember the Red Sox being down 3-1 to the rays and coming back and almost winning (I know almost only counts in horse shoes and hand granads) anything is possible, especially with this Rays team, they have done some pretty remarkable things this year. It aint over till the fat lady sings.

Actually 31/2 innings. You're cursed. Go home and stick your head under the pillow. I can't wait to watch all the Philly fans who were bragging yesterday crying in their beers this weekend when Tampa wins 3 straight to win the World Series. The Mets will win 3 World Series before Philadelphia ever does. Tampa in 7.
