AGM Linebacker and I will bring the pain.

I'm a sports fanatic. I hail from Nelson County Virginia, and thats where I learned to be a Virginia Cavalier fan. I also learned to be a Dallas Cowboys fan because I hated how good the Redskins were doing. I've played sports at almost every level with the exception of being a fulltime professional, as a result I have a great perception on the sporting world. I love to talk sports and I've never been shy to share my opinion with someone.

Michael Strahan Calls it a Career

According to Fox Sports.com's Jay Glazer, New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan is ready to call it a career. Strahan has been been a leader and a distraction in the Giants' locker room during his career, but he he has always been a constant presence on the D-Line. He will retire with the record for most sacks in a single season. Strahan's retirement will finally put an end to a debate that has continued for nearly two years. He will go out on top after leading his team and his unit to a Super Bowl victory last year.

Since this guy and his steroids held the record prior to Strahan, I have no problem with him holding the record. Asterisk or not.

I agree, Justin. I haven't counted out Brett Favre yet, either.

"Strahan's retirement will finally put an end to a debate that has continued for nearly two years." Strahan's been retired for two seasons, someone just forgot to tell him.

but the rest of the line was good...which suggest that, at the very least, Strahan obsorbed blockers and/or required attention

Oh yeah he was carried by the best front 3 in football, but his reputation helped to require a doubleteam and free up space for the rest.

Yeah let's get honest. Osi Uminyora (sp?) commanded attention from offensive lines as well, and he certainly took some pressure off of Strahan, who was double-teame a lot more when Osi wasn't around.
