The New York Mets fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-3. The Mets have suffered with three consecutive defeats.

Without outfielder, Manny Ramirez, the Dodgers still haven't slowed down.

Dodgers third baseman, Casey Blake finished with four at bats and two runs and three RBIs, including one home run.

“It felt good to be back in there tonight and pick the team up,” said Blake. “Home runs are a product of getting good pitches to hit and putting a good swing on them. I’ll take ‘em when I can get them, but I’m not a huge home run guy.” Yahoo Quotes ' Blake feels comfortable with his team. He likes the young talent that the Dodgers have.

“I like this team,” Blake said. “We’ve got a lot of great young players here, and they’re a lot of fun to play with and be around." Yahoo Quotes

Dodgers center fielder, Matt Kemp and first baseman James Loney, had one run with four at bats each.

“The middle of our order hasn’t really been doing a lot of damage,” Torre said. “The top three guys have been doing well, and Casey on the bottom has been doing well. So we’ve been fortunate.” Yahoo Quotes ' Dodgers pitchers, Chad Billingsley received the victory. He pitched six innings with seven strike outs and five walks. Billingsley has six wins on the season with a 2.51 ERA.

Mets pitcher, John Maine, suffered the defeat and has lost three games this season. He pitched five innings and allowed eight hits and four earned runs. “They got a bloop hit and then a home run on a bad slider,” Maine said. “It’s just the way it seems to always go and it’s frustrating. I just have to do a better job of concentrating.” Yahoo Quotes

Mets center fielder, Carlos Beltran had one run with four at bats and third baseman, David Wright had one run with two at bats. Jeremy Reed, first baseman, had three at bats with one run.
