After the New York Yankees swept the Boston Red Sox in four games and now are leading the AL East by 6.5 games, AL East Champions looks more realistic. In the last 10 games the Yankees are 9-1 and haven't slowed down since the All-Star game. Currently the Yankees are 73-43, which is the best in Major League Baseball.

In the middle of an easy series against the Settle Mariners, which the Yankees are leading 2-0 and having the Oakland Athletics's up next; this smells easy ride to AL East Champions for the Yankees.

The Yankees have only lost twice with eleven victories in the mouth of August. Help has been provided for them with the Red Sox dealing with injuries from Outfielder, Jason Bay and struggles from DH David Ortiz. Bay hasn't been comfortable with his hamstring and the numbers haven't been impressive. The steroid allegations involving Ortiz has been a factor in his performance.

The nail is in the wood and it's only a matter of time until the Yankees become AL East champions. Everything seems to be successful, with pitcher, CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnette performing well and first baseman Mark Teixeira having 30 home runs, 86 RBIs and great field play.

The Red Sox better hope for a Wild Card spot or their hopes are out the window.

Still a long season left. Sept and Oct and then the playoffsl. The only player on the Yankees that has produced well in the playoffs is Mark T. Sabathia will fall on his face in the playoffs and Burnette who knows who will show up in October. Boston/Yankees doesn't matter much because if the Angels continue to hit and pitch like they have been it really looks like another Series for them. Last months are really going to be fun and maybe very surprising. I still don't like the Yankees or Sox to many problems running around the clubhouses' in both. Yankee defense is going to be one of the keys and I simply don't feel they have it completely this year. They are afraid of the Angels regardless of what they tell people and the only way the Angels lose this is if their ballpen fails comletely down the stretch. Texas has the hitting but not much else and no experience and Seattle and WhiteSoxs a big if.

There have been those who have been doubting the delivery of "Fusion" and what was important to see today was not just the launch of the platform and the tools but how much of the technology I'm inolved in (JDeveloper and ADF) is part of the Oracle stack.

The demo of SOA dropped into JDeveloper, the Web Center demo dropped into Jdeveloper and for those not in the know, the UI you were seeing in many of our dashboards was ADF Faces, built ontop of ADF and all designed from within JDeveloper.
