MLB's Biggest Babies

Hey fans,

Today, the two babies of New York's MLB team owners, and members of the lucky sperm club, showed why they still need their pacifier.

Chien-Ming Wang, in an inter-league game, while running the bases suffered a foot injury that may keep him out for the rest of the season. And, Baby Boss is angry saying, "...the National League needs to join the 21st century. I've got my pitchers running the bases, and one of them gets hurt."

WOW, an MLB player running the bases gets hurt and Baby Boss wants wants MLB to change it. Hey, Baby Boss maybe you should go back to your horse farm, you sure don't know enough about baseball.

NY's National League team, being run by the owner's baby son, pulled a swift one by firing their manager in the middle of the night and after he, and the two coaches that also were let go, flew cross country and won against the mighty Los Angeles Angels.

The New York Mets are a bunch of under achievers. Perhaps they should have followed the Mariners' lead and fire their GM who with "full autonomy" gave his bosses the oldest and highest paid NL team and a depleted Minor League system.

Now, the Mets still reeling from their "7 & 17" September 2007 swoon will get a kick in the pants and be expected to pass the surging Philadelphia Phillies in the months ahead.

Of course, the Mets and Yankees owners will not fire their sons, but in the end maybe they'll go back to their day jobs and let their dads run a Major League team in Major League fashion.

I thought there was actually going to be a list comprised of all of the biggest crybabies in the MLB. You really had me motivated. Steinbrenner's acting like a crybaby, I'll give you that. However, I don't see anyone else who really is a "crybaby" per se as I read your article.

Good point about Mariners letting GM go instead of the manager but new GM may wind up firing him if they don't play better.

Chuck, I'll give you your beef about the Mets' classless move to fire Willie Randolph in the wee hours of this morning, but Hank Steinbrenner does have a right to speak though. His top pitcher goes down to injury in the way it happened, what do you expect him to say?

Any other babies to speak of besides focusing on both New York City baseball teams? How about Ozzie Guillen's tirade earlier this season? Think that is worth making the list?

Do I like him complaining? No, cannot say I do. The injury itself I don't get. What is Chien-Ming Wang doing jumping as he arrives at home plate? He couldn't just step on home plate? WTF? No wonder he got hurt.

Like Niteowl said on his thread, if Steinbrenner has a beef with his pitcher running the bases, instead of worrying about the DH, why doesn't he bitch about inter-league play? Playing the National League got him hurt, not the lack of a DH.

Smmonroe2, I wonder if you'd feel the same if it were Dice K ?? A simple solution to prevent this from happening to any American league pitcher is a designated runner.Let the pitchers bat and allow them to have runners without coming out of the game. It's a win win, some player that wouldn't get in the game anyway gets to run and the pitchers are out of harms way. This was a freak accident but what happens when a pitcher tries to score and makes a bad slide or gets clobbered by a catcher.Designated runners for interleague games only is the answer.
