Let's Talk About Your Favorite NFL Team

  • This is the Packer team we expected to see.  The offensive line showed many a weakness in the 31-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.  Green Bay has given up an unrealistic 19 hits on QB Aaron Rodgers over the first two weeks. Cedric Benson ran roughshod over the Packer's 3-4. Where is Desmond Bishop?!
  • The Jets defense is for real.  New York held New England without an offensive touchdown in the 16-9 victory. The Jets have yet to concede an opponents offensive touchdown.
  • Hero today, Gone to goat tomorrow.  Jeff Reed, kicker of the game winning field goal a week ago missed two make-able FGs (38 and 43 yards) against the Bears and had to watch as Robbie Gould kicked the 44 yard game winner as the Bears beat the Steelers 17-14.
  • The Lions made a run at it early, but in the end, they could not stay with the Minnesota Vikings and lost 27-13. Brett Favre set the NFL record with his 271st consecutive start.
  • The Dallas Cowboys continue to come up small in the big games.  Romo throws 3 interceptions in the 33-31 loss to the Giants for the inaugural game in the JerryDome.  The Giants are 2-0 in the NFC East.
  • Three field goals was all the Washington Redskins could muster against the St. Louis Rams.  It was enough to win 9-7.
  • Chris Johnson had a career day with 284 yards from scrimmage and 3 touchdowns but the Texans defeated the Titans anyway, 34-31.
  • The New Orleans offense continues their tear, defeating the McNabb-less Eagles 48-22.
  • The Jacksonville Jaguars do not look good at all.  The Arizona Cardinals defeated them 31-17 in a game that was nowhere near as close as the score indicates.
  • Oakland defeated Kansas City 13-10.
  • Atlanta beat Carolina 28-20.
  • Don't look now but San Francisco is 8-2 over their last ten games.  The latest victory, 23-10 over the Seahawks, knocked Matt Hasselbeck from the game. It's all about changing the culture. Winning is a habit, as is losing.
  • Baltimore beat San Diego 31-26.
  • Fred Jackson, 163 yards rushing, continues to state his case for Marshawn Lynch's job as Buffalo beat Tampa Bay, 33-20.
  • The hapless Browns lost to the Denver Broncos 27-6. Are the Broncos the best team in the AFC West?

Want to vent?  Maybe brag a little? Tell me I'm wrong?  The comments are below folks.  Time to talk some NFL football.

There are a lot of reasons the Eagles lost to the Saints... few if any have to do with Kevin Kolb

A defense that gives up 48 points may be a place to start. Care to elaborate?

42 points really, Kolb threw a TD pass to the wrong team at the end of the game (a pass I blame on Reid, Kolb only threw 1 bad INT).

Special teams killed them too (almost more so than Defense). At the end of the first half, it was 17-13 (really should have been 13-10 Eagles). By the 3rd quarter by the time Kolb touched the ball again it was 24-13 and by the time of another Eagles reception it was 31-13 (that INT was on Kolb).

While the defense played like shit, Special teams put them in some awful positions between terrible punts and muffed returns.

Jeff Reed definitely has to take some blame for the Steelers' loss on Sunday, but the Defense looked poor and the offense made some bad decisions.

With Clifton out with a sprained ankle and Barbre having his issues on the other side, look for McCarthy to scale back the Packers playbook. They need to simplify the formations to ensure Rodgers stays upright and Rodgers has to be more aware of the pressure and get the ball out sooner.

Will Michael Vick get a chance next Sunday vs the Chiefs?

Unless McNabb, Garcia and Kolb are all injured, there's no way Vick starts at QB this year. Given the way Kolb played yesterday, he earned a start against the Chiefs

Yes, I am in full agreement with you here Steeltown. Big Ben did his part in driving the offense down the field but Jeff Reed ruined Pittsburgh's chances..twice. I really felt sorry for Reed (who is usually a very reliable kicker) when they showed him standing on the sidelines after Gould's game-winner.

On defense, Pittsburgh clearly missed Polamalu and Cutler's Bears took full advantage of his absence.

On a side note, Cheezer, why is there a photo of a College-style football when this is an NFL article (no big deal, I just thought I would be the first to point that out haha).

I felt the football was artistic. Sheesh, everybody's a critic.

Just for that I'm gonna use it again. Maybe a soccer ball as well :D

Go Lions! They sure make losing less exhilarating and less murderously frustrating than my previous favorite team (Cardinals)!
