I'm a 25 year old who loves sports. Ever since I was a kid I loved sports. I still do but I like the NFL and MLB and occasionally College Football and College Basketball. I would say that I like the Super Bowl the most out of all the events. I could name every Super Bowl winner, loser,MVP etc.

Just Because We Got Santana Doesn't Mean We're Out Of The Clear Yet

I'm extremely happy we got Johan Santana, but I don't think we are done yet. This idea that we are going to win now with him is something I don't buy. I think the Mets have an awful bullpen that hasn't been addressed. I think with the exception of Billy Wagner and Scott Schoenweis, everybody should be up for grabs. In other words, get rid of them, all of them were awful. Also, we don't know what we are going to get with Jose Reyes. Will he be the guy from 2006 or the guy who stunk in September of last year? Will Carlos Delgado have a big year or will he be awful? If those two guys play lousy, this year we are done. Those are two guys who are key in our lineup. If they don't produce, we might not be able to produce. I'm happy we got Santana but what about the pitching? Besides Santana, who should be great? We have Pedro Martinez, who was hurt. We have John Maine, who we don't know how consistent he is, Oliver Perez, who was up and down all year and who imploded against the Marlins in the final Friday of the regular season, and there is El Duque, who is 72 years old. I think we still have issues to address. Getting Santana is a hell of a start but we need more.

Likewise, Detroit Tigers have improved tremendously but still have questions in the bullpen.

I'm sure there are a lot of questions that the Mets have to answer, but I think they might just want to see if the guys who don't originally suck last year but did suck again, if you know what I mean. Let's see how well the team does first. THEN the Mets will make some moves. I mean, they JUST got Santana and lost 4 good Minor Leaguers. What do you expect?

What I'm saying is that people are now saying how the Mets improved getting Santana and they are a now team. I'm trying to say is that getting Santana was great and I applaud them for it but like I said they need to more. I haven't heard before getting Santana and now of getting anybody else. To be fair, who's out there as far as bullpen help?

And I agree with you. The Mets need to work on their bullpen, but they've got to do anything in their power to make the Mets better, and they felt that Johan would turn the team around in the most positive way. NOW the Mets can look for relievers. BTW, Aaron Heilman isn't that bad, is he? 3.03 ERA. 1.070 WHIP, in 81 games. I think he's an OK middle reliever, since his numbers just keep improving.

Schoenweis is untouchable? Really? Are we talking about the same guy? Schoeneweis was abysmal for most of last year. And Heilman, while not outstanding, is so much better than Schoenweis. Feliciano was outstanding last year, with a 1.219 WHIP and 61 Ks in 64 IP. Duaner Sanchez may finally return after missing a year and a half, and El Duque could end up in the bullpen if Pelfrey is ready to start. Even without these two, the Mets still have a better bullpen than either the Phillies or the Braves.

Schoenweis and Wagner ARE hittable! Even a bunch of high school girls could hit them.
