On this final cut day for the NFL, one move was made for the Jets by the NFL. RB Jesse Chatman, after having a big game and scoring the game winning TD against the Eagles on Thursday night, has been suspended for the first four regular season games this season for violating the league's steroid abuse policy. He will not count against the 53 man roster.

The Jets also made their final 18 player cuts to bring the roster down to 53. The veterans that were cut were DB Hank Poteat, and LB Matt Chatham. They are carrying 4 QBs, Brett Favre, Kellen Clemens, Brett Ratliff and Erik Ainge. Notable standouts that made the roster were first Brett Ratliff and David Clowney, who teamed up for 8 catches and 2 long TDs prior to Clowney sustaining a shoulder injury.

One undrafted rookie made the team, Kenwin Cummings, a DE/LB that led the team with 6 tackles on Thursday night versus the Eagles.
