Instant replay in MLB?

on July 20th, 2009 the Minnesota Twins played the A's. In what looked to be a total blowout (12-3) going into the 3rd inning became a close grudge match, thanks to the help of Matt Holliday, (6 RBI's and two homers) Orlando Cabrera,(3 hits 2 RBI's) and others. The game ended up coming down to the final play!

The only problem was that the final play was inaccurate! Catcher Kurt Suzuki lost sight of the ball, giving Michael Cuddyer an opportunity to score from 2nd.

As the play moved on, Suzuki threw the ball in to the pitcher (Michael Wuertz) who tagged Cuddyer who just slipped under the tag by Wuertz. I knew as soon as the ump shifted his wait back to get every thing in his fist pump that Ron Gardenhire would not be pleased. This in my mind this was robbing the twins of a game they should have had. they really needed it as well considering how tight the AL Central is. So putting this game into prospective should the MLB have instant replay on this??

When instant replay was added to help out on home runs I was happy to see that change made. and I haven't noticed much of a change in game speed. However, if they did decide to have instant replay on everything I would miss not having it. No more Lou Piniella coming out to yell at the home plate umpire while Carlos Zambrano breaks the Gatorade machine. Also baseball is a very slow game any way so would this make things better or worse? But then again what if at the end of the season the the AL Central comes down to the Twins being one game out of the playoffs? And this is not the only time where instant replay has been needed. i agree he was safe and i think that each team should get one challege per game. You can use it on anything, call, home run, tag. It would be fair and if you already used your challenge you can argue a call that was made.

if you make instant replay like that than it makes baseball no different than football. it takes away from the game. part of the fun of baseball is that human error is included in the game. not every umpire has a perfect strike zone and they dont always make the best calls but if you really wanted to include replay like that than whos to say that a manager wont challenge the first strike called in a ball game and than argue every one he disagrees with after that. the rule in baseball now is as soon as a manager argues balls and strikes hes ejected. thats how it should stay. if you wanna use instant replay than leave iti up to the descretion of the umpires but dont make it for every little thing in the game. yes cuddyer was safe but the umpire made a call and stood by it. all instant replay does is undermine the games umps

Why cant i vote on this thats weird but i think they should leave it the way it is. this is only one game and most of the times the umpire get the call right. like the article said i would miss all the drama. its been apart of baseball forever and it wouldnt be the same.

To add pictures, here's what I do (in simple steps, in case you don't want to go through everything in the Help section):

Upload the picture by clicking the "Images" tab (one of the blue tabs on the top.
Once you do that, click upload images on the right.
Find the image that is saved on your computer and upload it.
Click site scout on top the ArmchairGM page.
You will find something that's called "Log:Upload", or something along those lines. Click on that... and you'll find the picture.
Copy the link, and paste the link in the article using []s, and you're good to go.

Instant replay for what to make the game longer and correct maybe less than 1 tenth of a percent of mistakes that really have any bearing on the game. The game has been around for over a hundred years let's just keep it where it is. I am not a purist but instant replay isn't necessary in baseball and the expense would be passed on to the fans and make the price of a ticket even higher than it is now.
