I hate to say it but...

What a championship Sunday!

I would like to congratulate the New England Patriots and New York Giants on making it to SuperBowl XLII in Glendale, AZ.

I would also like to say I TOLD YOU SO to everyone who thought that I was crazy for saying that the Giants would be a good team this year.  Granted it was a little bit of a stretch to say that they would win the NFC east since they did not…but I’ll take the SuperBowl.  In fact, let’s look at exactly what I had to say about the Giants at the end of August:

“ NFC East  :  Giants, Cowboys, Eagles and Redskins (you watch, Eli will come up big this year.  If not, well then so be it.)”

Okay, well I didn’t exactly say that the Giants would do well and take it to the house…but that’s close enough.

Apparently even one gentleman felt that I was on some sort of drugs to think that the Giants would even win the NFC East.  Sir, you are right…but something tells me that even though they didn’t win the East that they would much lose the east and be where they are now.

I am in no way a Giants fan. In fact, I really do not like Eli Manning solely based on the fact that he was making demands in the NFL when he hadn’t even picked up a jersey yet.  Daddy’s boy has finally made it to the big show.  Let’s just hope that he does not choke like we all are quite sure that he will.

Looking back to the Giants/Pats game earlier in the season, the Giants were quite successful against the Pats.  They blitzed well and offensively looked pretty good.  Part of me doesn’t believe that they can repeat play like that.  The Patriots have been to more SuperBowls than the Giants have lately and are just a better team.  As much as many of you may hate the Patriots, you cannot deny the fact that they are a pretty dawggone good team.

As for the teams who did not make it, Chargers and Packers, I feel bad for them.  And by “them” I mean the Packers.  I stopped liking the Chargers after Philip Rivers decided that he would be better at trash talking than actually playing.  He seems like the kind of guy that would trash talk you until he made you fight him…and then when you go to hit him he falls to the ground screaming “my knee, oh my gosh my knee!”  Thus making you feel bad for him and then deciding not to hit him.  Then the next day he tells everyone that you were scared and that’s why he didn’t hit you.  A little long I know, but it works.

My question is how does LT only carry the ball 2 times for 5 yards in the biggest game of his career?  Even if the coaches wouldn’t let him back in the game, He needs to fight his way back into the game.  Unless a story comes out that he blew his knee out and didn’t tell anyone, he should have been in that game.  As long as Tom Brady and Co. are around, the Chargers will most likely not make it to a Superbowl.  There are much better teams than them in the AFC and they need to realize it.

Hopefully this will put a bad taste in Brett Favre’s mouth and he’ll come back with a vengeance next year.  He plays the way football is meant to be played…you shut up from Monday-Saturday and let your play do the talking on Sunday.  It will be a sad day when he doesn’t suit up for the Packers whenever that may be.  The Packers played well but the Giants just walked away with the win.  No more, no less.  They will be back in the weak NFC next year with an even better team.

Have a great Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Not taking anything away from the Giants but the Green Bay offense stunk something fierce last night. So much for that Lambeau Field mystic.

I doubt Jeff Garcia, Tony Romo and Brett Favre just so happened to choke, you gotta give credit to the Giants defense

Give credit to the Giants defense. Then again, that OT interception thrown by Favre was just a bad throw. I wonder if that guy who voted him as MVP wants to recast his ballot.

"As much as many of you may hate the Patriots, you cannot deny the fact that they are a pretty dawggone good team." Why do people keep saying this. Yes, we know they are good. I don't know of anyone denying that at this point. I am so sick of this you-gotta-admitt-they're-good HORSE SHIT. Why do I have to admit they're good? Does it make you feel better? Do you think it's edgy or controversial? I don't get it.

I can recognize a great team when I see it. That does not mean I have to like it, appreciate it, or feel like talking about how great they are. The Pats kept the Steelers out of the Superbowl twice (that's just AFC championship games), I have a dislike for them. I do not want to gush about how awesome they are. Pats fans tell me to drop it when I mention that they cheated. Well, to all of you Pats fans, I say drop it. I don't want to talk about how good they are. Write all the articles you want, talk about it as much as you want, but don't expect me to jump into the Tom Brady/Goat beastial lovefest with you.

LOL. No, I will gladly discuss the Patriots and this season. But you won't hear me saying "they are a pretty dawggone good team". I don't have to say they are great. But for some reason you Bostonians won't quit asking me to say it. I don't walk around telling people that they need to say that Crosby is the best hockey player in the world.

Just a thought, but if one were a real, true fan of a team that has gone 18-0 so far this season, what difference does it really matter what anyone else thinks?

I consider myself a Patriots fan. But I think it's awesome how much people hate us. That being said, I think most Pats fans appreciate respect, which most of the national media and national fanbase give the team.

i think they'll be hated for about 5 years...

like the cowboys, broncos, 49ers etc etc...

i was watching the division playoffs with a redheaded irish kid from the cape who said similar things you've said to me...directly

he kept saying, how come you don't just sit back in awe of them and respect them...and i told him he didn't get it

i said, honestly, how much did you hate the 1990s Cowboys...seriously...his response was hilarious...

"Well, they were a good team and i respected them...no...wait...i fucking hated those guys..."

and my point was proven...

So now, Rawb, you're in the position of being the hated...Your defense shouldn't be..."well, there so damn good" it should be...I've been on this bandwagon since 1990 baby...and now its paying off

but when the shoe was on the other foot...most people, who honestly talk about it, understand now...

i still hate the cowboys ; - )

You can hate and respect at the same time. I hate the Yankees, Canadiens, Lakers, and Manchester United; but respect the hell out of all of them.

Hate is a very strong word. I hope you all do not "hate" anyone or "anything". However, it was not a coincidence that Jessica and Romo's paths crossed. A set-up from god? Perhaps. Never been too fond of Dallas. What do I see for the future of New England? Well, let's just say it's going to be some bad lobster fishing this year.

I've read a couple of these threads. There is always comparison of the last time the pats giants played. In week 16 Pats' Neal of the O-line was out, and I think Kazcur was also (tho i might be wrong.) Whenever Neal is out its noticable. Both will be in the Super Bowl.

LT hyperextended his knee. That's a more difficult injury to play on because it tears the gastrocs muscle and affects the push off in running. Its easier to deal with a MCL tear because that's ligamental... pain drugs and a brace should work fine. LT's problem was he insisted on playing and couldn't/shouldn't have. Norv Turner was either poorly informed or couldn't control personel.

GO PATS!
