I'm just a guy who doesn't know too much about where his life is headed; what I do know, however, is that I love sports. Hockey, football, baseball, horse racing... whats that you say? Basketball? Well, they can't all be winners!

Hey everyone,

This is part 3 and 4 of my 10 part video series teaching people how to handicap horse racing. It is going to be great for beginners who are interested in learning how to bet the game but will also be helpful to intermediates to help fine tune their craft.

Make sure you've seen parts 1 and 2 before watching these ones!

I'm not selling anything, all of these videos will be posted for free on youtube. Just wanted to post it here too to get the word out to more sports fans! Hopefully there are some horse fans here that find these educational and helpful.

Thanks for checking it out!

Part 3

Part 4

Thank you!

Nice work again. We don't have Beyer speeds in the UK, to my knowledge. A few questions though, have you seen the Grand National? Look for it on YouTube. It's a 4 and a half mile race, held with 40 horses, over 30 fences. Furthermore, the race is handicapped, which to us means that the horses carry additional weight with them, the better historical horses will carry more weight, and the weaker horses will carry less weight in an attempt to balance the performance. Does this happen in the United States?

Yes; here in the states there is added weight, although the effect is usually fairly minimal. Beginner/apprentice jockeys get less weight and perennial winning horses get more weight. Sometimes it effects things, but generally it is not too big a deal.

Unfortunately these videos will not help much at all in the UK. Indeed you do not have Beyer Speeds, and racing styles are MUCH different. You have larger fields, longer/slower/endurance races, and fences to boot. I have watched races like the Great National before; they are a whole different game.

I'm sure there are tricks to that trade as well, but put me out there and I wouldn't have the slightest clue who to bet on!
