Greg Oden backs Obama; surprised Hillary does not concede immediately

Vote

Greg Oden isn't doing much in the way of basketball these days, but he sure is blogging up a storm, and Tuesday he wrote that Barack Obama will be getting his vote come November.

> "We are all citizens of this great country and I know I'm putting in my one vote. I know it's just one small vote, but it's big to me. If the person I vote for wins it's gonna be because of my one little vote, at least that's what I'm gonna think. I think everyone should think that way."

So long, Hillary. Now that Oden is on the campaign trail for Obama, you're toast! Think of all the money, the influence, and time -- oh, the glorious hours and days of free time -- Gregory has at his disposal. Now that Oden is a man with a purpose, all that's left for Obama is to choose a Vice President.

Perhaps he should start his search in Portland?

I wanted to write an article about Oden but never got around to it (surprise, surprise - damned laziness icing on my ADHD cake).

Here's the gist of my concept:

I don't care about anything Oden says, but damn he is one interesting fellow.

I can't help but listen to him when he talks. I remember when he held his press conference for his knee surgery - I watched the whole damned thing and thought - I like Greg Oden!

There's something about him that is endearing. He's a subtle flashy, he's a calm spaz, he's a doofus witha cool person's mindset. He's effortlesly relaxed, he's laid back standing up, he's comfortable being a freek.

I think for him to be as young as he is and as comfortable as he is with himself, his body (anyone who is freekish tall knows what I mean) and his uniqueness in life (holy crap, he's a jock AND he has a functional brain!!!) is a special trait that should be cherished, not pounded into some little box that Big Men should fit into...

I'm not saying Greg Oden is a better read than Gil Arenas (time will tell) but come on!!! DON'T shun this guy, EMBRACE HIM!!!

He's the modern Bill Russell but with an understanding of what Bill Russell endured all the while being cool with the absurdity that is his lot in life!

If he was a regular sized dude and crossed paths with him, you'd enjoy him and wouldn't twitch at his personal opinions on politics, etc - but he's good at basketball - once a generation good - let's let him be a person when we we're not demanding him to be a circus freek. After all, circus freeks have opinions too!!!

See? I just wrote half the damned article anyway!!!

And fuck Hillary (metaphorically that is, not actually). If she can't even keep her husband in line (no excuses), I don't want her running my country!!!

Greg Oden is to basketball as Obama is to politics right now, so it only makes sense.

Obama is actually doing something in Politics Greg Oden has done Nothing for basketball to this point.

He should concentrate more on getting healthy and not being the next Sam Bowie rather than trying to be the next Obama.

That being said get out and vote I dont care who it's for just do it.

Have any of you seen this and this? It may be that I'm very easily amused, but I don't care if you're Bill Clinton...these are so simple they're hilarious.

Interesting how Hilldawg will even throw her own daughter under the bus (check out comments made regarding Chelsea's chosen career) in vain attempt to garner a few votes.
