AGM Linebacker and I will bring the pain.

I'm a sports fanatic. I hail from Nelson County Virginia, and thats where I learned to be a Virginia Cavalier fan. I also learned to be a Dallas Cowboys fan because I hated how good the Redskins were doing. I've played sports at almost every level with the exception of being a fulltime professional, as a result I have a great perception on the sporting world. I love to talk sports and I've never been shy to share my opinion with someone.

March Madness is right around the corner, and I cannot wait for it to get here. Spring ball just doesn’t tickle my competitive itch enough; thank God that rugby season has started. Also be thankful that there is no offseason for Walker’s Rants, and I’m here bring the best in sports rants every week. Walker’s Rants are a go…

Xavier is not a mid-major team…

Al Groh needs to be fired as UVA’s head football coach; I don’t care about the contract extension…

The Wizards are watching a brief window close right before their eyes…

Brett Favre can play for another 2 years for sure…

Pray for Longwood University Rugby and Todd Miller, who was severely injured on Saturday…

I can’t wait till St. Patty’s Day and beer…

I’m actually excited for opening day and watching my Braves play the Nats in their new park…

If the Celtics pick up Sam I am they will self implode before the Eastern Conference Finals…

Carl Edwards, master of the most electrifying move in NASCAR today…

Your number 1 seeds will be, UNC, UCLA, Memphis and Georgetown…

Big Ben gets an extension for 102 million? Damn he ain't that good…

If the Lakers get any production out of the middle of their lineup they could win the West…

The Spurs are the quietest championship team ever…

Losing Yao doesn’t change the Rockets fortunes at all…

Chad Johnson will not be moved this offseason…

Randy Moss will not be a Cowboy next season…

Chris Long will be the best player taken in the top 10…

Warrick Dunn may have been one of the best underrated backs of all time…

Congrats to Washington Rugby Football Club for racking up their second preseason win of the year…

Why is Bill Simmons still allowed to write?

Signing Fedorov was a very good move for the Washington Capitals…

Its looking like Moss will remain a Pat... Also, Arizona is completely cuffed with Fitz...but they could move him ; - )

Yeah Fitz contract numbers are insane. I mean he is a good player but the money he is looking at will keep him with Arizona for a while to come.

not true...the money has cuffed AZ so much, they're trying to move him. Rumor has it, Philly already has the restructured deal in place and just needs to meet AZ on the trade (they're asking a lot!)

Ah really a restructured deal to bring Fitz into Philly? That would be 2 huge moves this offseason and would throw Philly right back to the front of the NFC

I think Moss was the backup plan...

Given all the things that have happened, I'm waiting until Dave Spadaro spins the "Reggie Brown is pretty good, right?" once everyone is disappointed we don't have a #1...

Roy Williams is apparently also an option

Phily will not have a number 1 yet again, but really why would they complain. Outside of 13 months with TO they never had a #1

because when the eagles had a #1, what happened...

McNabb not only gets to function int he WC offense, but he displays on of his best talents, throwing the deep ball...

My theory is: Sign moss for a pretty big deal. This way, if things explode, you let him, McNabb and any other aging vet walk and rebuild. Who cares if McNabb's psyche is damaged, he's done anyways...

If you get Fitz, you probably won't have the lockerroom problems and a receiver for Kolb...but it costs some parts...

I've also heard the cards are interested in Spikes and Reggie Brown...

Wow look at that typical Philly fan bitterness come out. I personally dont see any problem with going after Moss if youre the Eagles. Basically they need to look at it like this; their window is closing very very fast and they have 2 maybe 3 more years to get to and win a super bowl. After that Westbrook will have tapped out his best years. And it doesnt matter who is at QB or WR then.

bitterness?

No bigP, i agree...that's exactly what I think...they've got McNabb's next 2-3 years and that's it...then its time to restart...maybe Kolb is it, maybe not...

The one thing I do have faith in, even if they get Fitz and his huge contract is: Joe Banner...when was the last time you saw the eagles over the cap and releasing decent players?

for all their personnel stupidity (at times) and poor drafting...that's somethign they rarely if ever do...

i'm anxious to see how the numbers shake out...

If you remember, Jevon Kearse signed an 8 year, 65mil contract in 2004 and look where he is now...the only ramification i can think of is the cap hit this year (relatively small)...

They plan this stuff out...most contracts are frontloaded guarantees...look at McNabb...he signed (what was at the time) the richest contract for a QB and now has 3 years with no guarantees...

So, you either get to see the eagles frugality/heavy spending and risks... or the 'skins and dan snyder...who for all his stupidity, does care

Agreed it will be very interesting to see how the numbers break down when it's all said and done. I have to give the Eagles credit they do a good job of taking care of their cap. Snyder has no regards for the cap and now that is finally catching up with the Redskins. I can assure you that he wants to be a part of the Moss race, but with only about 3 mil in Cap room there is ust no way even with him restructuring a ton of contracts. Danny always tries to put off till tomorrow what he should pay today, and that is now catching up to him as he has had to restructre Jon Jansans contract twice in two years.

Big Ben is that good. On occasion. He's worth it because he sort of belongs in Pittsburgh. It's a perfect fit. PS I'll be going to my first rugby game, Manchester vs. Bath, in three weeks, and I'm giddy about it.

Big Ben is a hell of a QB I'll be the first to admit that, but because of the way Pitt plays i have a hard time seeing him as a big time play maker and therefore becoming a big earner. Thats cool, I actually played in Bath a few years ago against a local club. English rugby is good, but can be very boring for the casual fan.

I wouldnt go that far, just not sure that he is a 30 plus carry a game back. And to be honest, I think there is only a small handful of those in the league anyways.

My reax:
  • G'town could very well be a #1 seed if they manage to win the Big East tourney
  • Randy Moss leaving New England rather unfathomable
  • Yao's loss may not affect the Rockets for now, but wait til the playoffs get here...
