AGM Linebacker and I will bring the pain.

I'm a sports fanatic. I hail from Nelson County Virginia, and thats where I learned to be a Virginia Cavalier fan. I also learned to be a Dallas Cowboys fan because I hated how good the Redskins were doing. I've played sports at almost every level with the exception of being a fulltime professional, as a result I have a great perception on the sporting world. I love to talk sports and I've never been shy to share my opinion with someone.

Daunte Culpepper Calls it a Career

Quarterback Daunte Culpepper announced his retirement in a letter to the media on Thursday. Culpepper who most recently played with the Oakland Raiders had sent an open letter to the entire league just a week ago offering his services to anyone who would take him. After finding no bites on his letter, Dante thought it would best best to move on to the next phase of his life. Daunte Culpepper's career has been in a downward spiral ever since he tore his ACL in 2006. That was a horrific injury that he suffered. He was then cut by the Vikings and landed in Miami where he felt the need to prove himself and he returned too early. Dante never came close to his near record breaking form of just a couple seasons earlier. As a result Culpepper became a journeyman QB.

Boy, did Daunte ever fall far, fast. He does get the lifetime achievement version of the Jeff George/Randall Cunningham/(Tom Brady?) Memorial Trophy for "Insane QB Fantasy Seasons Fueled Almost Solely By Randy Moss". So that's something.

You know, if Randall could have had a good receiver...or even a Younger Mike Quick, we wouldn't even be mentioning Culpepper in the same breath as him For being such a (supposedly) racist town, Philly's housed the two greatest black QBs ever (and don't start with the Doug Williams bullshit)

Don't get me wrong, Philly Randall ("QB Eagles") was awesome. I'm just saying a lot of guys have "rejuvenations" when throwing to Moss. And this is as a big Brady fan, too -- seriously, he really had no business throwing 50 TDs (does anyone, really?).

I remember when Duante was in college and about to redefine the QB position. Byron Leftwich will continue to follow in your footsteps, Duante!

of course Randall Cunningham has (practically) double what Culpepper has (and a little less than double McNabb's)

In three years, we'll be having the same conversation about JaMarcus Russell.

I'm sorry, but although I like Culpepper, he was always over-rated. It was sick hearing ESPN talk about how he's still a starter in this league. Yeah he's as good as MAtt Leinart and Kurt Warner, not so much actually.

Daunte Culpepper has come down with a case of Rodney Dangerfield syndrome...he can't get no respect...

Yeah, a 75.3 QB rating over the past 3 seasons will do that for you. Then again... Eli Manning's QBR over the same span? 75.6.

It's nice that we're talking about the past but does anyone else want to talk about Culpepper's stupidity right now? Culpepper essentially retired because no one would give him a chance to be a starter. In the NFL as long as you're on a roster you're only 1 play away from starting. Even at the minimum you're sitting on the bench making $1 mil. If you want to play and apparently he did... just get in the league.
