Cleveland Indians Fires Eric Wedge
| 3
|
With four games left in the season, the 65-93 Cleveland Indians made Eric Wedge the fifth manager of the 2009 season to be fired. Along with Wedge, the Indians' management gave the coaches their walking papers.
The Indians will close out the 2009 season on the road against the Boston Red Sox, who will be in the playoffs for the second year as the American League wild card team.
Cleveland could well end dead last in the central division if the Royals win any of their final games against the Minnesota Twins.
Who will be their next manager?
The management have not said yet. He may come from their Triple A team or from outside the team. There are plenty out there that they could pick from. We will have to wait and see.
