Indianapolis Colts gone, Dallas Cowboys gone, The Pats are going all the way, no doubt about it!!!!!!!!! No I'm not that dumb, because I take it one game at a time. Especially considering the Pats who have been vulnerable to the run will be going against LaDainian Tomlinson and possibly Ryan Grant. So as long as they don't choke...I mean lose...I mean as long as the Chargers don't execute like they normally do...as long as there isn't an upset...we'll be fine. And so begins my rant about teams I have no loyalty too...

What is the true meaning of "choke", I thought it meant your air supply was being cut off, but it seems that every time a team loses for any reason at all they choked. So yesterday as an unbiased football fan I watched two monumental upsets, the defending champions fell to reserves and the #1 seed in the NFC fell to a #5 team that they beat twice before. And since all I have been hearing is Peyton Manning choked, Tony Romo choked, Jessica Simpson, Referees fellating the Colts etc., but what I didn't hear was the defenses stepping up, players executing, experienced coaching.

Now back to the Patriots, who if they do not win a Super Bowl will go down in history as the biggest "chokers" of all time. Why would they be chokers? Because they went undefeated and had the biggest hype all season. Oh ok I get it, so if the Chargers/Packers/Giants somehow beat the Patriots and prove everyone wrong, instead of the masses admitting they was wrong and giving credit to the other team, they label the Pats chokers and they are done with it.

So congratulations San Diego and New York, you didn't win the game, you happened to be playing when the Colts and Cowboys lost the game.

The reason the Patriots would be chokers is because they are more talented than the other teams. If the Patriots play at a certain level of execution, they simply cannot be beaten. But if they do not play at that level (and there's been games that they haven't), then they are vulnerable.

While I'm leary of saying they cannot be beaten, I'd agree that they are probably more talented but the most talented team doesn't always win the superbowl...think about the 98 vikings...or San Diego, who arguably had the most talent last year and didn't win a playoff game

They will be an all-time classic joke if they don't win the Super Bowl.

My old coach decribed choking as a fear of failure. He felt that if you had negative thoughts at a critical time it would cause you to lose.He taught us to concentrate on fundamentals and not what will happen if I do something wrong.I don't know if he was right, but the 3 years I played for him we were 32-1 .Yea, we choked once.
